Grow, Sell & Eat Local!

Formed in 1996, GBVR was initially a steering committee consisting of three key neighborhood institutions: the Junior League of Wilmington, the Cathedral Church of St. John and the Wilmington Senior Center. Together, they called upon the conscience and leadership of Wilmington to halt the economic and social devastation of this once proud and historic village. In 1997 GBVR was incorporated as a non-profit, tax exempt organization. From our Mission Statement: “The blueprint for our work is the community’s Comprehensive Master Plan, approved by City Council, which addresses housing conditions, real estate development, economic development, commercial revitalization, safety, transportation, quality of life and historic preservation.”
