Grow, Sell & Eat Local!

This year the Farm Bureau in Paulding County has organized a county-wide, rather than city specific, farmers market program. There are two main objectives for these markets: Farmer/Producer outreach. Not only do we need to support existing farming operations, we need to encourage our younger generation to learn about farming, gardening, and sustainable living techniques. Farmers markets can be a great place for people to connect and become involved in the fresh food movement. It starts with people learning to enjoy real food, and setting an example for others to follow. Community outreach By providing a larger venue, we hope to reach a greater segment of the local community, including under-served and low-income individuals and families. We are working to implement programs, such as an EBT/SNAP based program, that will allow our farmers and producers to provide fresh high quality food to this segment of our community.
