The Eagle Arts Commission's mission is growing and celebrating the arts to strengthen community. The Eagle Arts Commission was established to promote, educate and develop the arts for the citizens of the City of Eagle. It was created as a part of the City of Eagle government in 2001 by City of Eagle Ordinance No. 380. The commission consists of up to five (5) volunteer members. The commissioners are listed below. These commissioners are recruited through a public recruiting process, appointed by the Mayor, and confirmed by City Council. The commission currently has one full-time coordinator and reports directly to the Mayor and City Council. The Eagle Arts Commission serves in an advisory capacity and is established to advise the City Council on ways in which city government might best serve the public with regard to matters involving the arts. To formulate a long-range plan for the development of a thriving cultural climate in the City of Eagle. To initiate, sponsor, conduct or support public programs in the arts. To review and advise on the aesthetic aspects of all works of art or designs or public monuments under consideration to be accepted or commissioned by the City. Recommend to the City Council the allocation of public monies to artistic and cultural organization, individual artists and community programs. To seek out and encourage contributions and grants to the arts from private and public sources.
