Over the past 122 years our community has stood witness to the coming of the railroad, cattle drives, two land rushes, Indian Wars, gun fights, colorful characters, natural disasters, the birth of the Oklahoma Oil Industry, good times and bad. Modern day Woodward has grown to a population of nearly 15,000 with the county seat serving as a commercial center for 70,000 residents in the tri-state area. The enduring spirit of the pioneers lives on in those who continue to make Woodward a better place for posterity. They have left a rich heritage indeed. There is no better place to call home.
