The spiffy and new for 2011 Port Orford Farmers’ Market is all about finding a venue for the bounty of North Curry County to be shared with residents and visitors to Port Orford, alike. Our market is unlike many, yet familiar enough to feel comfortable in the dramatic shadow of Battle Rock. Here, vendors are free to sell or trade their wares whatever way they like, without fees or paperwork. This market is designed for everybody to participate without barriers, economic or otherwise. If you want to know what you’re eating, you’ll have a chance to ask the farmer who raised it. Please browse this site for information pertaining to all kinds of food you’re going to be glad you’ve made the acquaintence of. We’ll be including plenty of recipes from some really good cooks, news of what’s coming up at the market and any changes you should be kept abreast of. There’ll be profiles of our vendors, so you can learn a bit more about your food. We’ll even keep tabs on some food news that is important to our community and Food Security in general. North Curry is especially vunerable to interruptions in service from the larger network of commodity dispersal that has sprung up throughout North America in the last 40 years. So, join us every Saturday to see what’s good to put in your face. In Port Orford and North Curry, we want to make sure that good, healthy, local, nutritious food is for everyone!
