Grow, Sell & Eat Local!

Brazos Valley Farmers Market was moved to its current location in 1997 by a small group of local producers who wanted to provide the region with local produce. The original Saturday market only had a few vendors. As of 2010, our market has grown to two weekly markets with ever growing vendor sales. The goals in the early days were the same as the goals are today – to create venues where local farmers can connect directly with Brazos Valley consumers, to build community in an urban setting, and to provide public education on regional farming, gardening and food preparation. Brazos Valley Farmers Market is governed by an all volunteer board. The organization is funded through vendor fees and countless hours of volunteer time. Brazos Valley Farmers Market receives no city, state, or federal funding. Brazos Valley Farmers Market Two Year-round Markets in the Bryan/College Station area, serving hundreds of shoppers per week. A direct connection to our vendors with deep roots in the Brazos Valley, including farms, nurseries, and specialty foods producers. A vibrant gathering place where friends meet and shop. A resource for learning about food, agriculture and nutrition. Our Mission To support our region’s farms by connecting consumers directly to local food producers, strengthening urban-rural community bonds, and educating the general public on the benefits of eating locally produced food.
