Grow, Sell & Eat Local!

Working together to build a sustainable local economy through strong soils, clean water systems, healthy foods, and handmade goods, shared among friends and neighbors. Picture Star Valley growers kept hearing requests from area residents that people wanted to have a Farmers Market here--and so in 2007 a few people got together a few more people and ideas began to take shape. For two years, the Market was held on a farm in Thayne, complete with visiting goats and chickens. Then the thriving community of Alpine was chosen for the growing needs of our festive weekly gatherings. At the Marge Grover Memorial Park, our customers appreciate paved off-street parking and the covered pavillion for our gracious area musicians. The Market features local farmers with fresh produce--traditional favorites and interesting heirlooms from around the world. We also highlight value-added artisanal jams, jellies, sauces and salsas, plus breads and pies and treats, and local caterers offer meals you can enjoy before or after shopping. Craft products vary from locally-produced alpaca wool to hand-made jewelry and re-purposed wood items. Non-profit organizations are encouraged to set up a free booth or table to share your visions. This year--watch for new connections with our area visual arts community and for cooking competitions based on foods you can find here
