Loris Farmers Market

The Waccamaw Market Cooperative (WMC) is an incorporated 501c nonprofit organization responsible for coordinating and managing community based farmer’s market throughout Horry County. The program traces its roots to Conway, SC where the Downtown Conway Farmer’s Market opened for business in May 2009. Through the direct support of the Clemson Cooperative Extension Service and the Conway Farmer’s Market Association the market in Conway grew and thrived in its first year, leading other communities to push for the establishment of similar markets. Additional market locations and activities were added in years two and three resulting in a regional network of markets in Conway, Loris and North Myrtle Beach. In May 2012, WMC will open a fourth market in the Market Common District of Myrtle Beach. The resulting structured market network ensures that virtually all communities in Horry County benefit from access to fresh fruits and vegetables that farmer’s markets offer.
